At its Sept. 17, 2026 session, the City of San Antonio zoning board voted down a motion to postpone Case No. 8 to Oct. 1 and instead set the item for individual consideration after residents and staff described long-running permitting and stormwater problems.
Resident Jack Finger told the board the property owner had proceeded without required building permits and technical reviews and that the site posed a flood risk to neighboring properties: "el dueño, el solicitante, es un… es una persona mala aquí." Finger said the case had been delayed multiple times and urged elected officials to stop further postponements.
A city staff member outlined the record: activity on the site dating back to 2020 with multiple infractions and incomplete permit and technical-review processes, and noted that some violations could not be remedied simply by a zoning approval. The staff speaker said they appreciated the desire for more time but urged denial of the postponement, arguing the violations required direct action rather than further deferral.
The clerk called the vote on the postponement motion (the clerk explained voting options: "Un sí es aplazar, un no es dejarlo en la agenda individual"). The motion to postpone failed; a subsequent motion to deny the postponement carried, sending Case No. 8 to the individual agenda for fuller consideration and follow-up on code compliance.
