Council highlights community input, Jensen Strategies in city manager search

Councilors described a multi-panel hiring process led by consultant Jensen Strategies that included public, peer and staff panels and a community forum. Councilor Brad said public participation and written comments "mattered" in deliberations and that the panels provided different perspectives that informed the council’s choice.

Councilor Linda called the overall process "excellent" and said it yielded tough but productive comparisons among three strong finalists. Councilors praised Jensen Strategies for designing a comprehensive recruitment and said the finalists spent time meeting the community and staff as part of the vetting process.
