Finance staff briefed the committee on an amendment to a tax increment district (TID) project plan. The Wind/Sugar Creek Ridge development will reduce the planned number of housing units from 163 to 149, and the amendment adds a Market Street parcel of roughly 13 acres expected to yield about 43 homes under a developer agreement.
"They're decreasing the number of housing units from 163 down to 149," the presenter said, adding that the change appears to be related to coordination with the school district and roadway needs. Staff also described a separate developer agreement for Market Street adding about 43 homes. Supervisors asked whether acreage, school impacts and public utilities might change and raised the nearby substation and transmission-path issues as matters the county could raise with the Public Service Commission if intervention is appropriate.
Staff said there are no boundary changes and the TID still plans to close over its 20-year life; the county intends to support the plan amendment and noted the plan commission was scheduling a vote that afternoon.
