Bethany Sullivan, director of Senior Services, told the commission the Senior Center will move to a new ride-scheduling system in October that requires riders to submit requests to the scheduler (Marzena) by 8:00 a.m. the day before travel. Sullivan asked for patience during implementation and clarified the change affects how riders request same-day service.
Sullivan also described the Monitor My Health diabetes education program, funded through NCAAA and licensed by the American Diabetes Association. The nine-week group program (plus two one-on-one sessions) will be offered Fridays from 10:00–11:00 a.m.; Sullivan said spaces are limited and registration is required. The minutes cite expected program benefits including a 34% reduction in hospitalization rates and high participant satisfaction from other implementations.
