Town staff presented the proposed 2027 TIF budgets and asked the Redevelopment Commission to forward a positive recommendation to the town council as part of the overall 2027 budget process.
Mr. Pierce said the North Beltway TIF (also called the Economic Redevelopment Fund) is the primary TIF and "includes around $2,700,000 to meet all town bond obligations" and about "$3,200,000 for a variety of capital project related expenses," including pedestrian improvements, road repairs and design work for intersection improvements and a connector road. Staff explained that some bond payments were moved to a separate line item at the State Board of Accounts' request and that other TIF funds are dedicated to debt service and economic‑development agreement obligations. Commissioners asked whether previously approved school‑related commitments were included; Mr. Pierce confirmed the township contributions and the facility use agreement had been completed and that the budget includes the allocated funding.
The RDC voted to send a positive recommendation to the town council.
