The Historic District Council unanimously approved a Certificate of Approval to reinstall a historic balcony on the second‑floor primary façade of 212 Estrada Street. Planner Mia Sadler told the board the revised submission included construction details and wall sections and that staff recommended final approval based on compliance with the Old Town Preservation Design Guidelines and the Land Development Code.
Architect James Pizzetta, who identified himself as the project architect, said the new submission adds necessary construction detail and allows mahogany as an alternate material depending on pricing. Board members praised the level of drawing detail; one member said the project could be used as an example for future submittals. No public comments were offered. A board member moved to approve HDC case 20202 without conditions; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
The COA allows the applicant to proceed to final permitting for the balcony as presented; staff will incorporate the conditions of approval (none additional in this case) into the permit record.
