Following the July 27 Community Visioning Session, the committee reviewed participation metrics and outreach effectiveness and set priorities to broaden input.
The July session produced 21 online survey responses and seven paper surveys pending entry; attendees were described as primarily older adults with fewer families and youth. The committee agreed to collaborate with school staff to distribute a youth-targeted survey and to post the community survey on the school parent portal (Natalie and Victor were noted as county/school contacts who helped distribute materials). The minutes also record practical outreach tactics: door-to-door flyers, email and postcard drops, laminated QR-code displays for businesses, and posting vision boards at community locations.
Communications responsibilities were assigned: Tracey Slocum will manage the Honeoye Forward webpage, Amy Linehan will provide updates and upload Lorraine’s master research list, and Mike Baker will review and approve website and social posts. The committee also recommended preparing a post-event community recap highlighting participation, vision-board displays and emerging project ideas to show that the committee is building on past work and existing studies (e.g., HHATS, Comp Plan).
Next steps include entering the remaining paper surveys, refining display materials for local events and coordinating with school staff to reach families and students.
