La Porte P&Z elects Wayne Landin vice chair; Nancy Ojeda named secretary

The La Porte Planning & Zoning Commission opened its Aug. 27 meeting with officer elections and approved two positions by voice vote.

Chair Victor Perez called for nominations for vice chairman and secretary. A commissioner nominated Wayne Landin for vice chairman; after no other nominations the commission voiced assent. The chair then opened nominations for secretary and said, "We have a nomination for Commissioner Ojeda for Secretary." Commissioners approved that nomination by voice vote.

The officer elections were procedural and carried without recorded opposition. Commission business then moved on to scheduled agenda items including review of a major development site plan and two ordinance recommendations to the city council.
