Benbrook Par 3 representatives Debbie Reynolds and Terry Janek presented the council with an official Guinness World Record certificate and described the months-long effort to assemble a record-setting golf-ball pyramid.
"19,019 golf balls," Terry Janek said, describing the finished structure and explaining the logistics of moving and stacking tens of thousands of balls, the weighted base and the requirement that each row be inspected and approved. Janek said the base was engineered to hold about 6,000 pounds and that the team used GoPro and cellphone video to document the build for Guinness verification. The presenters said the official approval came on April 14.
The presentation highlighted community involvement at Heritage Fest, including volunteers who carried roughly 40 bags of 500 balls each and a public signing of balls tied to a fundraising effort. Debbie Reynolds presented the council with the framed certificate and asked the council to display it at city offices. "We appreciate the city's help and the chamber's support," Reynolds said.
The recognition was purely ceremonial; no council action was required. Presenters said the event drew local attention and that a short Guinness-produced time-lapse video has been viewed widely online, which they said raised Benbrook's profile.
The presentation closed with a group photo on the council dais and thanks to volunteers and sponsors who donated buckets, boards and labor for the effort.
