Jacob Yarnall, a life scout and Eagle Scout candidate, presented the commission with the completed monument sign he installed at Cornelia Park as his service project. "I felt that installing a sign at Cornelia Park would not only be beneficial to the community as a small park may be mistaken for a part of the neighboring school ground," Yarnall said, describing how he secured materials from a local donor and worked with city staff to place the sign.
Commissioners and staff thanked Yarnall for the work and noted the project’s educational and public-safety benefits. Director Drew Halter and Superintendent Jen Santos both highlighted the value of volunteers in advancing small capital improvements; Commissioner Earl suggested including a brief description and photo of the soil conditions in Yarnall’s final report to better document installation challenges.
