Council asks staff for more detail and delays decision on CRA contribution to ranger

Council members deferred a decision on whether the CRA should contribute to the newly proposed city/park ranger after a staff presentation and public input.

A council member asked whether a decision had to be made that night and said they were not comfortable approving the CRA contribution without a full scope of salary, schedule and on-call arrangements. "I'm not comfortable making a decision on this tonight until there's more information regarding the position," the member said.

Staff and the mayor agreed there was no rush; S1 said staff will provide additional information and bring the item back at the next meeting. Staff also noted they are seeking county funding to offset CRA costs and will present how the ranger’s hours will be tracked across the three CRA areas.
