Staff reported that inconsistent lab results prompted preparation of a new RFP for testing services and that the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will run independent samples to help calibrate findings.
Staff (speaker 8) said the bubbler pilot sampling runs through the end of September and the engineer’s report is expected about 60 days after that testing ends; DEP will join the same boat on the 25th to take independent samples. "We've requested the August report... and I think we just received the July report," staff said, and added there is no interim reporting — the contract calls for a final report after the warm months sampling window. The committee asked staff to provide the reports to members when available.
Separately, staff showed a seawall property with artificial turf and decorative stone as an example of landscape choices that prevent grass clippings from entering canals.
