Oro Valley’s chief financial officer presented the town’s unaudited fiscal-year 2025–26 results on Tuesday, saying overall revenues were higher than the prior year but still came in short of the adopted budget. “Total revenues last year are higher than the prior fiscal year collections by about $2,600,000 or 4.6%,” CFO Mr. Gephardt told the council, but he stressed the numbers are subject to change pending the year-end audit.
Gephardt said the town recorded a roughly $2.12 million shortfall against budget, driven primarily by weaker local sales-tax receipts. The report shows the change in general fund balance declined by about $835,000 (from a beginning balance of $20,700,000 to an estimated $19,900,000 at year‑end), and staff reminded council that audit adjustments could alter final figures. Gephardt also noted that some transfers out of the general fund ran above budget and were a principal driver of the variance.
