A resident addressed the commission during the budget public comment period and publicly thanked elected officials for the budget, saying: "I just wanna say, guys, thank you for the, the budget." The comment came during consideration of the operating budget ordinance for fiscal year 2026–27.
Commissioners responded with brief, collegial remarks recalling the long hours involved in budget preparation — one commissioner referenced past "4AM meetings" — before the commission proceeded to a unanimous roll-call vote to adopt the ordinance.
The public comment did not propose changes to the ordinance; it expressed support for the commission's approach to fiscal stewardship.
