The Village of Mukwonago board approved Ordinance 10-48, a Comprehensive Plan 2035 amendment and annexation request affecting an approximately 81-acre tract east and north of West 307 South 9120 County Road EE submitted by applicant Balinski. Trustee Chris Bridal told the board the Plan Commission recommended approval and that several Town of Mukwonago residents attended public comment to raise concerns about traffic speeds on adjacent roads, subdivision entrances and potential lot sizes.
"We did have quite a few town of Mukwonago residents come out and express or speak to the public comment session with concerns ... They did have concerns about speeds on ... and how that could be handled with the county, entrances into the subdivision, potential lot sizes," Trustee Chris Bridal said. Bridal also explained the zoning change shifts the property from a conservation-subdivision overlay to medium-lot single-family (single family 2) while retaining woodland areas consistent with the overlay.
The board moved and seconded the ordinance and approved it by voice vote. The annexation proceeds under the agreement the village has with the Town of Mukwonago for how the property will be incorporated; the change will allow the Balinski development to proceed under village zoning.
