A district presenter (S3) told the board that an architect's proposed decorative light standard for a parking-lot project proved more expensive than anticipated and was replaced with an original, lower-cost standard after review. "The architect proposed the lightning, but it wasn't included in the grid set nor was the lateral," the presenter said, and staff described back-and-forth coordination with the architect and subcontractors on electrical and mechanical scope.
Board members asked why the lighting elements were not included in earlier plan sets and whether electrical power routing had been coordinated. Staff said vendor pricing had increased since earlier estimates and that additional electrical work would add to the cost; because parts of the work involve both electrical and mechanical scope, staff said they had asked the architect and contractor for clarifications. The board then moved and approved the item as presented.
