Staff outlines community workshop schedule for Phelan Park expansion

Staff (S3) told the board the Phelan Park expansion is advancing and that the outreach schedule will include multiple community workshops and park-committee meetings from late August through October. "We are working on the schedule for the community workshops," the presenter said, and staff listed stakeholders including sports groups and AYSO among those expected to participate.

Staff also reported construction milestones on related projects (interior conduit scans, electrical transformer deliveries, paving scheduled for mid‑October) and said the furniture/fixture/equipment procurement process had an extended deadline. Staff said grant funding and match requirements were part of the park financing strategy and that further park-committee meetings would be scheduled to advance design and vendor selection.
